Such ar® the dialectal expressions of the motto and password respectively of the Society of Dorset Men, and it was in pretty frequent use ou Monday night last, in Goilber's room.-, Cuba .Street, when the members, their ladies, and friends gathered for one of the reunions for which the society is famed in London and overseas. All enjoyable oveuing was spent in progressive euchre, vocal and instrumental music, etc., most of the songs rendered being in tjic county dialect, the contributors of the chief items being the Misses ■Truobridgc and Kandell; the Messrs. Kind (H. 11.5. New Zealand). H. ,S. Moore. l'\ 'Williams, and J. F. Atkins. Mr. Moore, the chairman of committee, acted as M.C., and during an interval Mr. Atkins, the honorary secretary, drew the attention of those assembled to the presenco amongst them that night of several visitors from the "oold pleace," members of the crew of the gilt Dreadnought (U.M.S. New Zealand), now in port. In a hearty speech lie extended to them a most cordial "Darset" welcome. Mr. Hind (Portland) suitably replied in acknowledgment. Miss Truebridge aad Mr. S. • P. Hooper acted as accompanists to the several singers. The prizes for proficiency in euchre were obtained by Mrs. Moore and Mr. Hind.
