Grumbles have emanated from the firemen of s.s. Mnori about what the.y describe as "bad coal." This coal, they state, makes their work doubly hard, and dilliculty has been experienced in retling up sufficient, steam, aud consequently the vessel was Into in her running at times. Mr. W. A. Kennedy, local mauarer for the Union Steam Ship Company, stated yesterday that, as far as he knew, there was no trouble among the Maori's firemen. Mr. Kennedy added that tho coal which she had been burning for a foilnight previous to last Friday had been very bad. and in consequence Iho vessel had not been sir punctual-as usual, But since Friday-tho matter had been rectified.
