COUNCIL'S MONTHLY MEETING.' At the monthly, meeting of tho Victoria College Council, held last evening, .Mr. C. Wilson presided. There were also present: Sir Robert Stout, Dr. Prendergast Knight, tho Rev. W. A. Evans! and Messrs. William Ferguson, J. G. W. Aitken, C. AVatson, T. R. Fleming, H. H. Ostler, A. R. Meek, R, M'Callum. M.l'., A. R. Atkinson, R. M'Nab, A. T. Maginnity, and A. W. Hogg. Leave of absence was granted to tho Hon. A. L. Herdman. According to tho financial statement the credit balance at the bank was illlG is. Bd., and tho amount required for tho monthly payments was ,£lOlO 17s. 4d. Tho amount on dejusit was stated as ,£SOO and two amounts duo from tho Government as .£1875 and <£500. Tho Finance Committee reported that the Post and Telegraph Department was sending seven officers to study telegraph, telephone, and wireless engineering in tho physics laboratory. 1
