MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the committeo of'the Masterton A. and P.' Association was held on Saturday last, there being present Messrs. J. Strang (in the cliairj, t). C. M'Killop, JJ. Caseiberg, 11. Evans, W. J. .Welch, W, H. Buick, E. Gray, J. H. James, G. E. Allen, It. Dagg, ii. J. Dagg, D. M'Gregor, B. ltayner, G. H. Sha\v, and A. J. Perry. A letter was read from the Government representative in connection with tho visit of the. battleship New Zealand, thanking the committee for having placed the Sohvay Grounds at tho disposal of the Government, but stating that it was proposed to give the seaman a picnic on the Peutherston Domain. The director of the Masterton Technical wrote, suggesting that, in conjunction with the Wairarapa Society, the association consider tfio question of establishing a bursary for students in veterinary science, tenaDle, say, for three years, so that qualified students may proceed to the "University and take their degree. Meantime, he said that all the attendants at tho classes to be held in the Technical School would be gaining sufficient knowledge to enable them to attend to the ailments of stock on their own or neighbouring farms. The Board of Management ox the school was prepared to provide a master in veterinary science if a sufficient number of pupils enrolled. A recommendation from Mr. J. Sweeney, of Pahiatua, who is leaving the district, that Mr. A. M'Kay be appointed district representative in his place, was referred to the incoming committee. Letters were read from Inspector .Ellison, Mr. G. Pal la (late stationmaster), and Mr. A. Duncan (District Traffic Manager), acknowledging letters of appreciation of services rendered by the police and Railway Department in connection with the recent show. The report of the Ram Pair Committee was read and adopted. Pive new members were elected. The report ■of tho , meeting of the Ground Committee was read. Tho caretaker reported having cleared up tho grounds, taken down sheep-pens, etc. He had gone through the sheep and cattleyards, and found repairs necessary. In response to a request from tho committee, tho caretaker reported on the number of picnics held on the grounds during the year. He submitted an offer of .El 2 for grazing the stock-paddocks, and offered to still hold them for tho benefit of travelling stock. The matter was left in tho hands of Messrs. P. Gray and B. Rayner. The secretary submitted a list of tenders received for grazing, and that of C. Stewart, at J36 55., was accepted. The report of the meeting of the Finance Committeo was read. Tho treasurer reported expenditure for the month amounting to ,£1515 10s. 4(1. The receipts for tho month were .£357 ss. _ The financial statement showed a debit at dato of J2253 17s. lOd. The secretary produced a list of outstanding receipts, totalling ,£202 3s{, and members' subscriptions J2200. Accounts amounting to JJGI os. Id. were passed for payment.
