THE APPLE SUPPLY.
LOCAL MARKET AND EXPORT TRADE. Remarking oil the number of inferior .samples of apples which lmvo readied the local markctii this season, a dealer who bundles some hundreds of cases every week remarked to a Dominion representative that it would appear as though the apple-growers aro rather forsaking till) local market so far as quality is concerned, in order to put up an extra special sample for export. Many of the samples which have been reaching tho local salerooms during tho past low Weeks lmvo not, it is stated, been anything like as good as in years when there luis been 110 demand for fruit for export. Of course, said the dealer in question, some really first-class fruit has arrived, and has met with a good demand, and i>oine of tho growers could with profit to themselves hold on to some of their best fruit to supply tho local demand.
