The Pope's improvement has been maintained. He had a, good night on Friday. ! (Rec. April 14, 0.45 a.m.) April 13. The Pope has had a Telapse, due (according to tho diagnosis) to tracheal bronchitis. His condition is considered grave owing to • his weakness and ago. His temperature is 103. He became steadily worse in tho evening. The guards have been doubled to ensure that 'nobody is admitted. 1 A message at midnight stated that coughing had weakened the patient considerably, and he was now dozing. .His respiration was difficult. The physicians predicted a relapse on learning that contrary to their instructions | his Holiness had been permitted to grant' an audience.
