NEW FREEZING WORKS.
PALMERSTON, PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph—PreEs Association.), Palmerston North, April 13. A meeting was held hero on Saturday in connection with the proposal to establish. a freezing works here, and a meeting on tho question was also held at Feilding on Friday. Tho meetings were largo and enthusiastic. Tho present Longburn works wero stated to bo unablo to deal with all tho stock available. Thro proposals were considered, viz., to establish new works at Foxton Heads; to offer to purchase the Longburn works; or offer to purchase and enlarge tho Palmerston abattoirs. It was said that ample capital would lie forthcoming. A 6trong committee was set up to report on each) proposal in a fortnight.
