STATE HARDWOOD DEPOTS.

(By Tolesraph—Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, April 12. Mr. Pearce, M.P., chairman of the Patea County Council, considers that the Government proposal to establish depots for hardwood timber from which local bodies might draw supplies for bridgehuilding purposes,, is a step in the tight direction. The Patea County Council has authorised its engineer to provide the Public Works Department with the necessary information as to the probable quantities that would be required by the council.
