COST OF THE RESERVES.

Lite Reserves .Committee of tho Citv Council have received statements a« to tho expenditure under their special' review, which showed that tho committoo had kept well within their allocations. On tho reserves account the receipts totalled £1229, of which £021 was from town belt rents and the balance from fees I his was only £1 below the estimate. The expenditure was £41 less than the estimate. It totalled ,£7820, the princi nal charge being £G29G for labour. Receipts in connection with the Zoo (all sales) totalled ,£BB. Tho expenditure .£1752, was .£ll6 below the estimate. Labour accounted for ,£1093, forage, etc., for ,£315, and material for <£2-18. Tho receipts from the baths were ,£OSO, which was £1 below tho estimate, while tho expenditure was £527 135., £52 7s. less than tho estimate, Repairs absorbed £11 j Is. 3d. On the cemetery account the receipts totalled £1077, which was £177 mora than was expected. Of this, .£l2lß was derived from sales, £501 from burials, £98 from graves, and £07 from the crematorium The expenditure was £1108, or £122 less than estimated.
