I'*1'* -* r -f w 1 licensed surveyor, Wellington; Mr. «T. W, Harrison, jiccitsiul surveyor, and Mr. C. K Adams, secretary. . Seventeen candidates sit lor tho examination. Of cinlit who sat for the first time, two passed, namtljy Messrs. 1). W. Watson and G. I'irrit, Mli of tlio Lands and Survey Department, Auckland. Of nine candidates who sat to complete their examinations, thrco succeeded in passing, 'i'he.se were Messrs. G. S. Oould, Dunedin; J. K. Anderson. .Public \\ orl;<i Department, To Puke; and 1:. \\ . Maters, Lnnuls and Survey Department, Nelson. Although no definite provision is inndo for dividing tho surveyors' examination into two sections, candidates who tail at their first examination tu pass in some or tile sul>j< ds are allowed .txi come lip for examination in these subjects at tho next succeeding examination. If necessary a second supplementary examination of tuia character is'permitted.
