Wedding in Wesley Church. Tho marriage took place yesterday in Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, of Miss Hilda Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H> Bennett, The Terrace, Wellington, to Mr. Jtonald Thomas M'Lean. The ceremony which was. choral, was performed by the Rev. Mr. Chapman, and Mr. Wells played tlie organ. . Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of vorv soft ivory satin with a square train falling from the shoulders behind. _ Silk laco and clusters of tiny pearls trimmed the bodice, and. the graceful, draped skirt was bordered with swansdowno. The long, beautiful .embroidered veil (a gift from two aunts of the bride), was fastened with orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful American bouquet_ of white Bowers and maiden-hair foliage. The two elder bridesmaids, Miss Ruby Bennett (sister of' tho bride), and Miss Elsio M'Lean (sister of the bridegroom), woro pretty frocks of soft grey satin, draped , over cream lace, and caught up at tho side with a beautifully-shaded apricot rose, ami grey and apricot-shaded satin lints with long grey velvet streamers. Tho younger bridesmaids, Miss Olive and Miss .Irene Bennett (the bride's sisters) woro daintily simple frocks of white voile, trimmed with satin bands and Valenciennes. Ince, and white satia hats with swansdowno trimming and white satin streamers. Mr. Sydney M'Lean was the best man, and Mr. William Bennett the groomsman. Tho'bride received from the bridegroom an aquamarine pendant; to the elder bridesmaids werq given brooch watches, and lb the younger tiro gold necklets and pendants set with peatls and rubies. Tho' bride presented the bridegroom with a signet ring, to the best man she gavo a handsomely-bound volume of Longfellow's poems, and to the groomsman a watch. A' reception was afterwards held at the residence of Mr. and • Mrs. Bennett,! "Crow-Nest," tlio rooms having been most effectively decorated with flowers. Mrs. Bennett, the mother of tho bride, woro a gown of Wedgwood blue voile, trimmed with silk laco and black panne hat lined with, white satin, and with white and black plumbs. A Greytown Weddinfl. Our Greytown correspondent writes that the wedding took place in St. Luke's Church, Greytown, yesterday, of Miss Lolia Gertrude Gray, fourth-daughter of Mr. H. L. Gray, Greytown, and Mr. Joseph Edward Raison, only son of the late Mr. J- E. Raisen, of Greytown, Ijhe bride, who was given away by her fatlier, was gowned in ivory crcpo do chine, trimmed- with silver fringe and oriental silk lace, and caught up at one side with a pearl brooch." Her veil was worn with a wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of/white flowers and asparagus fern. Miss Olive Gray (chief) and Miss Alma Ju<]d wero her bridesmaids, and woro frocks of cream figured silk trimmed with oriental lace, and hats to match. They carried bouquets fastened with long pale bluo streamers. Mr. W. Gates (Greytown) was best man. The bridegroom's present to the'brido was>a handsome opal brooch. To the bridesmaids were given gold brooches set with garnets, and to tho best man a heart. Tho bride's present to the bridegroom was a pair of field "glasses. A reception was afterwards held in the Ifiro Brigade Hall. Tho bride.travelled in a grey tailor-mado costume, and hat with lancer plumos. Among the presents received \by tho brido and bridegroom was a handsome engraved silver teapot from the stewards of , tho South Wairarapa Trotting Club, with which the bridegroom has boon connected from its earliest days An Auckland Wedding. An interesting wedding took place at St. Mary's Cathedral. Parnell, on March 29, when Miss Daisy Bacon, eldest daughter of Mrs. Bacon, Oakden, Parnell, was married to Mr. Chas. Sydney Brown, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs, A. Brov/n, Otahuhu. The brido was given away by the Eev. Canon Gould, and wore an ivory charmeuse gown, with pearl embroideries. The Misses Violet and Mabel Bacon were bridesmaids, wearing diamauto net over satin and grey hats. Dr. C. Long was best man, arid Mr. H. Abbott groomsman. Tho Rev. Canon Mac Murray officiated. A reception was subsequently held at Oakden. Mr, and Mrs. Brown are spending their honeymoon in tho south. Mrs Brown's travelling dress was a grey tail ored costuino with furs. 'A Collego Debating and Literary Club. A meeting of members of tho'Wellington College Old Girls' Association was held at tho collego ou Tuesday evening, and a Literary and Debating Club was formed. Meetings aro to bo held on the first and third Saturdays in. every month. At the first meeting, to be hold in tho Girls' Collego on the 19th instant, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Misses Robertson and Nicholls aro giving papers on tho "Life and AVorlc of Oscar Wilde," which is to be followed at tho nest meeting by a Study of his book "The Ideal Husband." Ah interesting syllabus has been drawn up for tho year's work, and it is hoped all old girls' who possibly can will attend tho meetings. A committee was also set up to form a dramatic club. Mrs. Dawson, who has been stayinp with Mrs. Gibbs, Willis Street, returns tc Dannevirko at tho end of tho week. Mr. and Mrs. T. Cameron (Glendhi Station) have taken a house at ICarori foi tho winter. Tho "Weekly Press" announces tho cn gagement. of' Mrs. H. Sergeant (Wnnga nui) to Mr. Neame, of tho Collegiati School stall'; also of Hiss Znna l'ooh (Kuiuara) and Mr. R. Harper (Reefton).
