The symptoms vary somewhat with different species of animals and even, assume different forms oil those of tho same class. On younjf cattle it shows mostly- in rough grey "crusts" on the faco or other parts of tho head; while in horses it usually appears in circular patches. An alfected animal should be isolated, and nothing in the' way of harness, currycombs, or brushes used for it should bo used for other animals without thorough disinfection. The disease is of a fungous character, and is easily cured by tho daily application of any good sheep dip or a •smear composed of -Jib. of lard, 2ax. of sulphur, and 1 oz. of "oil of tar well mixed.
