Tho infantry camp at Matorae is now assuming big proportions, the advance party who went np on Saturday being followed to-day by 46 officers and 145G men in two special train's. Theso men are known as casuals, not having put in the required number of evenings drills and half-day parades or completed tho musketry courso as laid down by the regulations. During the next four days the men will receive instruction in these matters. On Friday G2 officers and 1157 men will travel to Matorae by an ordinary train and two specials. The TegiiT.ents represented in camp will I>3 the 4th (Dunedin), Bth (In.verca-gill), 10th (Osmaru), and 11th (Milton).
