CIVIL SERVICE ASSOCIATION.
. 9 ORGANISATION CAMPAIGN. A special meeting of tli9 Wellington branch of tho New Zealand Civil Service Association was held last, evening in the Masonic Hall, and was well attended, Mr. C. R. C. Robieson being iu the chair. The'meeting was'called for tho purpose of undertaking a campaign for the complete organisation of the members of tho service. A committee, consisting of ■Mss-srs. H. Wells, A. H. Holmes, A. Watson, H. S. Hurle, F. W. Miller, - Wallace, A. M'Donald, and W. Penny, with power to add to thoir number, 'was set up ■ to thoroughly organise the service in Wellington, and. to report thereon to tho annual meeting of the branch, which will bo held later this month. A further committee was set up to bring down recommendations for revision of the association's rules. To this.committeo Messrs. Spencer, M'Donald, and Holmes were appointed. A general discussion followed on the necessity of establishing a suitablo maga-' zine, and tjio ways and means of obtaining this desirable medium for keeping the members of tho association in touch with one another, and for circulating information oir matters of interest in connection with tho servico aud f ho association. There has lately been a largo accession of members to the' association, and tlio secretary reported last evening that thero wore now 1159 members on the Wellington roll. Tho moating, which was an enthusiastic one, terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
