The Swiss National Council has ratified tlie St. Gothard Convention, extending to Germany most-favourcd-nation treatment over tho whole of the Swiss Federal railway system, instead of, as hitherto, over Caley-St. Gothard lino alono. The decision has created intense excitement in Switzerland.
