Turner (secretary) arrived at Wairoa yesterday, and went on to Waikaremoana. They had a. rathor narrow cscapo from n serious accident on llio journey to .Wnikaremoanat Whilst tho car was rounding . a sharp: . bend, 1700 feet -up, on tho side of tho i Tutaemaro Range, tho side step collided. , with a boulder on tho track, bringing tho car to a standstill and breaking tho mainspring of the carriage. Fortunately tho car canted to tho side of the track instead of going down into U:o ravine. After half an hour's delay fixing up the broken < spring, tho party readied lake Houso at 4.30. The driver was in no way to blame, . as tho obstruction was not seen in time,
