IRISHMAN'S LEGACfES OF .£IIO,OOO FOR CHARITIES. Abaut ,£IIO,OOO is bequeathed for public uses in Ireland under tho will of Mr. Christopher Langan, of North King Street, Dublin, merchant,' who died 011 December 27, leaving personal estate in the 'United Kingdom valued at .£202,805. Ho left fifty-three sums of ,£IOOO . each to convents, Roman _ Catholic churches, and charitable institutions, chiefly in Dublin, and after other public and private bequests he divided the residue of his property, amounting apparently to between ,£70,000 and <£80,000, equally between the Roman Catholic Archbishop ol' Dublin, the Sick and Indigent Rooiukeepers' Society, 2 Palace Street, Dublin, and tho Council of Dublin of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. For masses for the repose of the souls of his deceased relatives and himself and "the souls in purgatory," he bequeathed A'2ooo. A. number, of bequests are made to clergy and members of religious orders, including .£1750 to the Very Rev. Matthew Farrell, of Athboy, County Meath, and -£1000 each to Mother M. Michael, of the Convent of Mercy, Trim, and Miss Kate Farrell, of St. Vincent's Convent, Dublin. To his manager, Patrick Doyle, he left .£7OO and his premise and stock-in-trado at North King Street, Dublin; to Georgo Lano,. his assistant there, he left JI1000; to his porter ,££oo, and to his cook ,£3OO. Claimants are required for .£2OOO within twelve months. This amount is available in equal shares among blce,| vel:il ives, if any, lo the second degree 01 kindred, unnamed in the will.
