CAB PROPRIETORS* MEETING.

DISCUSSION ON NEW FARES.

A well attended meeting of Wellington cab proprietors wits held last evening, Mr, R. Mason presiding. . . , . > The delegates who were appointed to wait upon tho City Traffic-Inspector reported that no arrangements concerning the proposed new schedule of fares had boeii come to iiiul that tho positiou was "as you wore" as far ns cab proprietors were concerned./ ' 4t the recent' conference between thfl • representatives of the cab proprietors and tho city authorities a suggestion was mado that the cab proprietors appoint two dele gates to confer with Councillor Trevor and Mr. J. Dovle, City Traffic Inspector. It was proposed that tlieso two delegates hear the views of Wellington cab proprietors and meet Councillor Trevor and Mr. Dovlo in the near future. With this object in view tho meeting last evening unanimously elected Messrs. R. F. Flann&gaii and R. Mason to act at tho con* fcrence. , , ~ Somo discussion took place on tho piw posed new schedule of faros as proposed' bv Mr. Doylo and members expressed tlieir Views strongly against the new proposal; It was finally decided that the two re) presentatives be given a free hand to act as they think fit at tho coming conference. , , .
