A very interesting meeting of the Geographical Circle of the. Lyceum Club,' London, took place on Thursday last, when Miss 'Pullen-Burry, E.R.A.1., gave a short address congratulating her sex on the recent resolution, of the Boyal Geographical Society, which now admits women to the society on equal terms with men, says the "British Australasian" of February 13. Miss Pullen-Burry; and Hiss Margaret Baiter then, showed to the company the "Lady Northcote of Australia." "It' was," said Miss I'ullen-Burry, "duo to her keen perception of the great need in Australia for an atlas constituted from an , Australian, standpoint, .that during the late Lord Northcote's office as Governor-General of the Commonwealth,' this useful work was put in hand. In the prefaco you will note how both publisher and compiler give Lady >Northoote credit for its initiation, and refer to the valuable assistance they received . from her. Lady Northcote is the hon. president of the United Empire Circle of this club." Reference was also made to tho travels of Jtrs. Mary Gaunt in West Africa. At the conclusion of this address a resolution was unanimously parsed of cordial appreciation from the Union of Women Geographers to the members of tho Royal Geographical Society who voted in favour of the admission of women to their society.
