March 21, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, March 21, Sir Edgar Vincent, chairman of tho Em* pire Trade Commission, on being interviewed on his return from New Zealand, 6aid the commission had obtained very important suggestive- evidence ip, Mew Zealand. All the members of the commission had been deeply impressed by the prosperity of tho Dominion, and the great comfort in which'alt classes live. The evidence the commission received appeared to point to extended possibilities in the direction of more Intense agriculture. Ho had been impressed by the number and excellence of the harbours, especially at Wellington and Auckland, Ho was much gratified at the way in whioh tho New Zealand Government • had organised: tho evidenco, and at the great' troublo the witnesses had taken in preparing their statements.
