The parly could not fight on pne policy in one part of the country and on another, policy in another. ' Unless the local associations were careful to select candidates supporting.tho official policy, the position would be impossible. Tho duty of Unionists was not to magnify their differences. He denied that the Tariff Reform compromise implied the sacrifice of principlo to expediency.
