The Wellington' Housewives' Union holds its first half-yearly mooting tomorrow. ~ The secretary's report, to be presented nt the meeting, shows that 151 members have joined the organisation since its inception. The Housewives' Union exists to promote the social welfare of women, to organise lectures on hygiene in tho household and similar subjects, and generally to safeguard and promote tho interests of women. Lectures were delivered during the past tcrni by Dr. Platts Mills and Mrs. Donaldson (vice-president '-of the union), and further lectufe3 by these ladies and by other speakers will be arranged during the Coming winter. • A Basket Ball.
