Mackenzie on tho occasions of thi'ir respective visits to Whangarci, was a suggestion put forward at the meeting of the Whangarci County Council on Friday that the guests at those functions should be circularised and appealed to for a financial contribution to assist the local body out of the dilemma in which it is placed, i There was, a confliot of opinion among the' members on the dignity of the proceedings, and it was also pointed out that by this tiuio the council's former guests were scattered far and wide, and consequently it would be a most difficult matter to get in touch with all of them.
