ST. PATRICK'S DAY.
SPORTS AND NATIONAL. CONCERT* A large section of the community,' in* eluding the members of" the Civil Scr* vice,. lyill keep high holiday to-day in honour of tho Patron Saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, and little touches of emor* aid green sported by loyal Irishmen will typify tho occasion. The day will bo marked by a big sports gathering for adults and children, to be held at New* town Park. A procession of the Cathollo Junior and Senior Cadets, the Hibernian. Societies, and members of the Catholio Clubs of Wellington will set out. from tho Lambton Station at 9.30 a.m. for the, park, headed by tho Wellington Watersiders' Brass Band. Free. ginger-beer and, lollies will be distributed amongst tho schoolchildren _ present. In, the evening there will be, a grand national Irish concert in tho Town Hall. Tho programme will l>e contributed to by Miss Agnes Seerief, Miss Nollio Simpson, Miss Teresa M'Enroo, Miss ,Shaw, Master R. A, Pankhurst. Messrs. J. Parker, D. J. Kenny. 11. N. Fletcher, and Alhvright. tho Orpheus Quartet, and the Marist Bros, schoolbovs, who will sing the patri>, otic chorus, "God Save Ireland." ■
