■- -, " 'A' DIFFERENCE OF OPINION. At the fortnigh'tly meeting of tho Ensti bourne Borough Council on' Friday evening, it was resolved, on tho motion of tho Mayor (Mr. H. Shortt) that tlio water supply scheme, as prepared for tho borough by Mr. Mestayor two years ago be again/ submitted to tho ratepayers on tho <late of the Mayoral and ■ council elections (April 30). This action was taken as tho piiltcome of a petition signed by 160 ratepayers last year, praying that an-> other poll on the question be taken. Thfl motion was carried by five votes to two. On Saturday morning . Councillor W. Organ gave notice of motion to rescind tho resolution authorising another poll. His action is Itoken on tho grounds that it would bo a mistake to attempt to deal with t!ho question of a water supply until the ferry servico scheme had been, settled. Councillors Button and Russell were absent from the meeting at which itlie resolution was carried.
