DOMINION SCOUTS.
(By Scoutmaster Myers.) St. Peter's Troop lias now completed its first year. It started on March 1, 1912, under the ecoutmastership of of Mr. K ,G.,Best, who is now in Sydney, Scoutmaster H. S. Myors'tflking his place. Ho started; with eight boys.. Itj increased Very '.rapidl^ 1 'aid' Msforty-fivo on' {ho'roll.' ""During' the '"year 1 it went through tho . eourso of first aid, signalling, and tho usual course of scout training. Last year it had a very successful concert at St. Peter's Hall. On that occasion the-hall was full to overflowing, l and it was decided to hold this year's concert in the Town .Hall on April 30. This troop during last year visited H.M.S. Drake (the flagship) and H. M. S. Cambrian. A branch of sea scouts had been organised' by this troop, under Mr. H. C. Lloyd, late assistant-scoutmaster of tho troop. This branch, though young, seemed to have taken on, and is growing very fast. Boya who would care to join may do so by coming along to tho Ghuznee Street schoolroom on Wednesday evenings, between 7 and 9 o'clock. St. Peter's Troop aro going to camp at Easter in. connection. with the carnival at Newtown Park, and tho officers and boys will make any' visitor welcome who would caro to inspect tho camp. Although the Kelhurno Scouts have not been chronicled for somo time, the troop is nevertheless much alivo.aud learning all tho time. A course in life-saving has just been concluded, and on Saturday last at To Aro baths several boys passed the Royal Life Saving Society's examination. Tho following is the result:—Bronze medallion, Patrol-Leader C. D. Lewis and Scouts G. P. Baldwin, A. 0. Prince, IV Bromley, N.. Robertson; proficiency certificate, Patrol-Leader E. Mellor. On Saturday members of tho senior section will co-operate with the Roseneath Scouts in lending assistance to tho Lyall Bay Carnival Committee, and at Easter, also, our services or© to be placed at the disposal of various committees for whatever work they may require of us.
