AN ARBITRATION COURT 1 APPEAL, ', The appeal of tho.Ngahauranga Slaughtermen's Industrial Union of Workers against the refusal of the Labour Department to grant it registration is to como on for hearing before the Arbitration Court' to-day. at 10.30 a.m. The Labour Department will not be represented at the hearing. In accordance with the procedure laid down by the Arbitration Act, the Registrar of Awards, having been notified by. the Clerk of Awards that the appeal has been lodged, ha*s forwarded tn that official the Departmental file dealing with the subject. These papers will bo laid before the Court. « . ,
Yesterday Mr. M. J.' Rcardon, secretary 'of the Wellington Slaughtermen's Union, was served by Messrs. Chapman, Skorrett, Wylie, and Tripp, who are acting for the Ngahaurange Union, witli a subpoena, calling upon him to attend the hearing of the appeal to-day, and produce tho original agreement between the New Zealand Slaughtermen's; Federation and the meat export, companies, and also the books and papers ,of the Wellington Slaughtermen's Union and those Vf tho New Zealand Slaughtermen's Federation. Tho Wellington Slaughtermen's Union will seek permission from the' Court to advance objections to tho. registration of tho now union, and if this permission is , granted, will bo represented at the hearing'by Sir John Findlay and Mr. D. M. Findlay. The JSgahauranga Slaughtermen's Union was refused registration by the Labour Department, on the ground that its meiubers might conveniently belong to the existing organisation, tho Wellington Slaughtermen's,
