BANQUET TO MR. NOSWORTHY. (By Tclegraph.-'-Presa Association.) Ashburton, March. 12. The member for Ashburton (Mr. W. Nosworthy)' was tendered "a" complimentary", social by. his-coustituents this evening. There was a representative atteijdance of close on six hundred. The chairmail of the County Council presided, and the Prime.'.Minister (Mr. Massey). the Postmaster-General (the Hon.' R. H. "Rhodes), and seven members of Parlianient were on the platform. Mr. Massey-paid''a flattering tribute to 1 * Mr. Nosworthy in his dual capacity as a private member and as Junior 'Govern-ment-.-Whip; . ..." I r 1.-' Mr. Nosworthy: was presented with a handsome secretaire, and Mrs. Nosworthy with a manicure set. Both the Premier and the guest of the evening were very enthusiastically received, and the function generally v;as of a very hearty nature.
