IMMIGRANTS 'ARRIVING.
i OVER SEVEN HUNDRED. Two' overseas vessels are due at New Zealand ports this month with a large number of immigrants. The first steamer to arrive will be the Shaw, Savill' R.M.S. lainui, duo at Wellington from Loudon on Monday next. Of her total of 488 passengers, 461 are in the third-class. Of tne latter, who may be regarded as immigrants, 107 are booked to Wellington, and the remainder aro distributed as follows' -Auckland, 157; Napier, 17; Gisborno, 9; Lyttelton, 61; Timaru, 10; Oamaru, G; Duncdin. 33; Bluff, 10; Picton, 2; Nelson, 13; Westport, 21; Greymouth, 7; Wangling, 2; New Plymouth, 10. The number of assisted immigrants is 173. Of this number no fewer than 60 aro described as domestics, 32 aro wives coming out to rejoin their h'usbands who are already settled here, 27 are farmers or farm labourers, and there are some 54 children. Due at Dunediu from London direct about March 27, the. New Zealand Shipping Company's Tongariro is bringing about 300 immigrants to New Zealand. Of this number 115 are booked to Wellington, 82 for Auckland, 33 for Lyttelton, 19 for Greymouth, 15 for Napier, 13 for AVestport, ,12 for Gisborne, 11 for Port Chalmers, 8' for New Plymouth, and 2 for Timaru. \
