Mr. William Bennett, aged 75, a retired farmer living at .Mornington, whilo working in ihis garden, was attacked by severe pains and expired almost immediately. -Napier, March 11. In the Supreme Court, Harry Murisoii pleaded guilty to supplying a woman with a noxious drug. He was remanded for sentence. William Bashford, alias Bunnell, was found guilty of horsestealing, and iilso remanded for sentence. f ' Auckland, March 11. A Danish seaman named James Jules Christienson mhd'p his appearance in the Police Court to answer a charge of having obtained clothing to tlfo value of .Ei 2s. by means of false pretences, and also ss. in money. There was also a further charge of attempting to escape from lawful custody.. The magistrate imposed a sentence! of three months' hard labour on the charge of false pretences, to be followed, by another.month on the charge of attempting to escape from custody.
