SYDNEY GAS STRIKE.
SETTLEMENT EXPEDITED. \ CONCESSION BY COMPANIES, ( i By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. March 11, 9.5 p.m.) Sydney, March 11. A development which may obviate the necessity for a special session of Parliament to deal with the gas strike position has occurred. The companies have written to the Premier stating that the men having resumed the companies do not object to cancelling that part of'the agreement relating to'wages, so that the men may comb before the Wages Board without further delay and have the matter settled by tho Court or the Wages Board. The secretary of the Gasmen's Union, to whom the 'companies' decision was submilted for consideration, states that tho arrangement will suit the union, which is in favour of. acting to expedite matters.
