BOYCOTT OF TRADESMEN. MEETINGS BROKEN UP. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, March 9. Tho National Union ot' Womon's Suffrage Societies .has resolved to oppose (ioverninent candidates and support Labour nominees at tho next election. Non-militants liavo begun a boycott of tradesmen and glergymen opposed to' women's suffrage. They are also diverting their charitable and other donations to tho suffrage cause, ami withdrawing their money from the l'ost Offico Savings Bank and reinvesting it in countries where suffrage has been granted.
Suffragettes destroyed railings, lamps, and small trees in the Nottingham Forest Recreation Ground. They were not detected. Many thousands of people on Wimbledon Common rendered the proposed suffragette meetings abortive. There was wild disorder. In Ilydo Park five thousand mobbed the militants. A strong of police rescued Mrs. Drummond and others. Suffragettes burnt a bowlers' pavilion at Heaton Park. A male suffragist, named Franklin, who wast charged in December last with setting fire to the Great Central train at' Harrow, has been sentenced to nine months' imprisonment, and ordered to pay the costs of tho prosecution.
