LOSS OF THE RED PINE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Acsociation.) Dunedin, March' 10. Mr. Wilson, secretary of the Shipwreck Belief Society, received the following telegram from Mr. Devenisli, Collector -of Customs at Nelson: "lied I'ino wrecked d'Urville Island. Qrr.w lost effects." Mr. Wilson telegraphed\tlio following reply t "Draw on us for .£3 per man of the crew of (lie.Hod I'ine. Advise if further relief necessary."
Concerning tlio wreck of flic coastal 'steamer lied Pino in Cook Strait on Friday night, tlio Marine Department, lias not arranged for an inquiry as vet. It is probable, however, tlmt this will Imj held at Nelson. Nothing further lias been done, so far, in eonneijvkm with tlio stranding of tho Wnimoa in Ohariu Bay, north of Cape 'Terawhiti. The Marine Department has recr.ivcd tho papers, in connection with the preliminary inquiry which was held by the Acting-Collector of Customs at Wellington.
