GRAIN AND PRODUCE. (By Telegraph.—Press'Association.) Oamaru, March 8. Tlie activity in the. wheat market has been continued during the week, the chief oauso being the filling of largo orders fmthe north, and southern millers coming in as buyers for mixing purposes. There was a, ouietor feeling at the end of the week, the" demand having been early in the week, i Velvet was, soiling at 3s. 7id. net at country stations, and a line of . 1200 sacks was sold at 3s. od., less commission. Later, liowever, the price rose to 3s. Bd. net, and at this figure' a line of 2CCO sacks was disposed of, but smaller lines fetched as hieh as 3s. Bid.- and 3s. BJd. Red chaff fetched 3s. Bd. net, and Red Tuscan, 3s. 85d„ Marshall's white chaff, 3s. 6id. Oats are not coming forward in any quantity. Sales of A Grado G-artons have been made at 2s. net, and for D Grade Is. lid. and Is. lUd., and up'to 2s. for a line (at a handy station), all net. A parcel of malting barley was sold at 3s. 10d., le3s commission, at country stations. During the week potatoes have fetched £5 7s. 6d., and £5 10s. net at country stations, but at the end of the week 1 £5 to £5 ss. were the top figures. The tubers are yet too green for much shipping business being done. MARKET REPORT. -Messrs.
