.Messrs.-.Tames : M'lntosh and Co. forwarded .£S 55., the proceeds of the sale of stock (fat ewe and fat lambs) donated by Messrs. I'. H. Nathan and 11. K. M'Kenzie to the funds. These donors were also accorded votes of thanks. Mr. H. V. Fulton, the judge of Romneys at the recent show, wrote expressing his thanks for the courtesies extended to him, and stating that the grounds and the arrangements were a credit to the Dominion.I—Received.1 —Received. Mi'. W. E. Hidwill intimated that he did not desire to again be elected to tho committee of the association, as it was impossible for him'to attend the meetings. He stated, however, that lis would continue' to take an interest _in_ the association, and would further it in every way he could.—'The president, expressed regret at the decision of Mr. Bidwill', who had been a valuable member of the committee.—lt was decided to acknowledge receipt of Mr. Bidwill's letter, and to hold the matter over until the annual meeting. •Messrs. Robinson and Son, of Masterton, wrote intimating that they had done record business, at the show, and stating that.it was very noticeable how popular tiie show had become since the opening of the new ground.".—Recftived, Messrs. Kiddiford - and Company for- . warded a cheque for .£2O as a donation towards extinguishing .the debt on the sliow property.—The donors were accorded a Jiearly vote of thanks. mated that arrangements wore being made to hold another eoiileiTnuo on Wellington tliis year, and asking for the names of delegates and subjects for discussion, so that mi order paper could be published. It was-, desired tnat only matters of colonial importance be submitted for (11scussion,. as it was thought that at the last conference too many subjects caino forward.—lt was decided that the president (Mr. 11.- Morrison) and Mr. D. M'Uregor bo appointed delegates to the conference, and that they prepare remits. ' A communication was received from the secretary of the Wairarapa 1\ aud A. Society, stilling that his committee had decideil to' invite the' Masterton Association to appoint two delegates to meet the president aud vice-president of the Wairarapa Society to conlcr on the question ot tho district being represented at the Auckland -exhibition. It was suggested that if the representatives of the two societies considered the matter favourably, the 'local bodies throughout the Waira'rapa bo .asked to consider the question, so that every opportunity might bo taken of malting the exhibit a thoroughly representative one.
The president thought that the proposal to have the Wairarapa represented at the exhibition 'was a good one. It would be a' pity to see a lertile district like this without representation. Mr. Harper asked if it was proposed that 1 the. Wairarapa should join with Manawatu in representation. The president'stated that they had no intimation to this effect. Eventually the president (Mr. H. Morrison) aud vice-president' (Mr. J. Strang)' were appointed to confer with the Wairarapa delegates on the subject.
GROUND COMMITTEE. . The report of the meeting of the'G'round Committee, over which Mr. B. Eayner presided, was read. . The I'riendly Societies' Council' wrote, accepting the association's terms' tor . a picnic 011 March 24. The secretary of the Mangamalioe School Committeo asked for the -use of the grounds for* a picnic on March 14. The application was granted, oil the condition tUat the caretaker act as supervisor. Mr. Rayner suggested that written authority be given the police to maintain order on the association's grounds at • future shows.. Several instances of friction had, be said, occurred at the last show, and the police were powerless—lt was resolved that a meeting of the Ground Committee be held at the showgrounds on Wednesday next, 'l'he caretaker reported as to improvements effected since the last ineetiug.—lt was resolved that tenders be invited for the grazing of the showgrounds on the same conditions as last year. It was decided that the same arrangement iu regard to clover paddock be made with the caretaker as last year.—The report was adopted.
HNAiNCE COMMITTEE. , The Ji'inauco Committee's report was read. It was decided that a refund ot £2 be made to Mr. A. Bain, as he was unable to occupy his side-show stand at the show, owing to illness. Tho secretary reported receipts for the month amounting, to .£1463 135., and expenditure '.£5lB Bs. Bd. The credit as shown in the pass-book was ;£939 is. sd. A detailed statement of receipts and expenditure for the month was presented. The receipts were shown as follows:—Show account, .£1299 10s.; luncheon account, 3s. 6(1.) lam fair account, .£l9l Is.; general account, .£3OO 17s. 6d.: total, .C 2174 12s. The expenditure was- as follows:—Show account, .£l3Bl 13s. 6d.; luncheon account, .£359 125.'3d.: ram fair account, ,£IOO 9>. 7d.;.general account,>.£7l 16s. Id.: total, ,£1913 lis. sd. This statement showed a balance to credit of JC2GI os. 7d. The assets, were shown as ,£1752 2s. fid., and tho liabilities ,£1746 Is. 7(1., leaving a balance of .£8 os. 11(1. Accounts were recommended for. payment, subject to .ox-, "amination by the chairman w : as resolved that a sab-committee, consisting of Messrs. G. C. Summercll, J. B. Moodie,' D. M'Gregor, and D. Caselbergbe set up to' obtain particulars and information in regard to the purchase of cutlery and crockery—'The report was adopted.
