OanWon (master of tho steamer Pabeena), Reuben 1 Leonard Earl (second officer), AVilliam Richard 'Potter (the rescued man, who Was tho fourth occupant of the capsized boat), llenry Edward Bohringer, - and Frederick Stun-mei-hays gave evidence. • . • The coroner returned a verdict of accidental drowning. ■ (To tho Editor.) Sir,—l cannot allow tho painful event with which 1 have been associated to pass without expressing as briefly as possible through the medium of your valuablo paper my sincere and grateful thanks to all those who placed their assistance and kindness so unreservedly at my disposal at the tiino of tho accident, to Dr. Herbert for his prompt and skilful attention, and to Mr. Summerhays, who brought 1110 ashore in his boat. Especially would I thank Hesdanics A. and G. Forbes, who nursed mo with such caro and tenderness, and whoso kindness in this respect I shall never forget, and also to Mr. Digby and other fritimls whoso help was so readily given.—l am, etc., W.
