March 7, 10.10 p.m.) london, March 7. Mr. W! A. Holmah, in an interview, detailed the far-reaching consequences of the New South Wales Act regarding strikes and lockouts. It was already productive of good results by securing the prompt settlement of disputes. He added that, whatever were the facts of the Sydney gas strike, tliey' did not affect tho Act or its provisions, which would doubtless ,be "enforced when the necessity arises for reinstatement. STRIKE THREAT WITHDRAWN. (Rec. March 7, 10.10 p.m.) Brussels, March 7. The Socialist delegates have withdrawn their threat of a general strike, as the Government has promised to study the question of electoral Teform. PERTH TRANSPORT STRIKE. SEVERAL STREET DISTURBANCES. Perth, March 7. The transport strike is causing serious inconvenience. ' Thero have been •several street disturb-" arices and one man has been arrested and another taken to the hospital. The men demand a compulsory conference and that all strikefs be reinstated. This the masters havo declined. Tho Labour Federation has advised a resumptioa of work. Cabinet has resolved to put in action the provision's of tho Arbitration Act against strikers.' WELSH MINERS RESTIVE. 'London, March G. Rhymney colliers, like those at Rhondda, are tendering a month's notice in April to strike against the employment of non-unionists. The notice involves 53,000 men, /' ■ TELEGRAPH'MESSENGERS. . (Rec.
