MINISTER FOR PUBLIC WORKS.
A NORTHERN TOUR. The Hon. W. Fraser will leave Welling- . ton.for Napier on Tuesday morning and go right through to Gisborne, arrifing there on the following day. He will remain in Gisborne and the vicinity for several days, leaving on Sunday evening, March IG, for Auckland. The Minister will leave Auckland for Whangarei on Monday evening, and from the latter port will go north to Kawakawa. On March 18, lie will visit Kaikohe, on March 19 Koliukohu, and on March 20 Kaitaia. On Friday, March 21, Mr. Fraser will drivo to Mangonui. On the follo\Ying jay he will leave Opua for Whangarei at 5 p.m. Afterwards he will-visit Dargaville and other northern' towns, .finally returning ■ south by way of Auckland, and arriving <at "Wellington about the end of March. A principal object of Mr. Fraser's lortliern tour is to inspect road and railway workfe in the East Coast and North Auckland districts, and he will receive deputations en route. On April' 10 or 12, Mr. Fraser will leave Wellington on % visit ! to the West Coast. The round journey . will take np about a week, an<l while .cn ■ the coast the Minister'will visit the State coal mines. The new mine at Point Elizabeth is nearing output stage,».and probably it will be formally opened by Mr. Fraser about the middle of April,
