The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the club had experienced a successful year, financially and socially. The following officers wero elected:—President. -Mr. It. G. Williams (ic-clccted); vicepresidents, Messrs. H, 11. Heelhnm and A. 11. Lawrence; captain, Mr. V. Donald; committee, Messrs. A. K, SclamkTs, 11. Oaselber#, M. Foley, AV. 11. Kobie«on, It. JJ. l'avitt, A. 11. (iillies, C. Perry: secretary, Mr. H. 11. J)onald; treasurer, Mr. N. .lames. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, March IS, The visit of Mr. A. Jamiesou, organising secretary of the V.M.C.A., lia.s resulted ill the institution of an energetic campaign for new members. Yesterday mi fewer than sixty-ono recruits ' were secured. During the month of February building permits to the value of ,£27; it were issued in llastertou. The first-aid classes tinder the auspices of the nursing division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade* will lie commenced early next month. Dr. Archer Hosting will be the lecturer during llio winter session. Twenty-four new members wero elected at the annual meeting of the Ma'sterton Amateur Theatrical Society last ovening.
