BOY'S THEFT.
LYALL BAY PADDLER ROBBED,
Some of tho perils if soa paddling are upon the land. Among tho latest to discover this is a woman who recently graced tho sands ami the pebbles gf Lyall Bay. On going in to paddle oho lett a bag in a go-cart, and when she returned the bag, with two rings it contained, was gone.
Yesterday morning two boys, one aged twelve and the other fifteen, were taken before tho Juvenile Court, and charged with the theft.
The younger boy pleaded guilty, and his father was ordered to pay naif tho value of the rings C£G 4s. 6d.) in restitution. The other boy elected to bo tried by a' jury, and lib was' remanded till this morning.
The same two boys were charged with the theft of dC3 worth of grapes from James Bell's hot-house at Hatailai; The younger admitted the oharge, and was sentenced to tho Weraroa Training Farm, The older ooy elect"d to be tried by a jury, :ind was veiuandpd till to-day. '
