Messrs. Dalpety and Co., Palmerston North, report:—At our usual monthly Bale to-day we offered a lnjgo oatalogue to. a full attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen, and prices all round showed a slight advance on last sales' rates. The demand for hides was especially'keen, and were eagerly bought up at the present high rates ruling:—Wocl: Crossbred, medium to fine, bright and clean, 9Jd., lOd. to IOJd.; coarse and cotted, B£d. to 9d.; log-stained and seedy, 7Jd. to Bid.; dead, 7Jd. to Bd.; lambs, bright clean lots, 9jd. and 10d.; seedy <and inferior, 72d. to BJd.; black wool, 6Jd. to'7d.; pieces and bellies, 6d. to 7d.; locks and pieeos, 5Jd. to 5Jd.; locks. 4id.; dirty and inferior, 3&d. to 3fd.; crutchings, 6id. to fiid. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—We held our usual monthly sale at Pnlmerston North on Friday, whan we offered a pood catalogue to an excellent attendance of buyers. Bidding throughout the same was animated, and we have to report a- tot-il clcarnncc at prices that can be considered satisfactory. For a line of heavy crossbred sheepskins wc received cach, and ex hides made up to 93d. per lb.
