South Afrifan Company, said that South Africa did not wish to put an extra burden on tho British people, but to say that tho Dominions were unwilling to receive preferenoo was arrant humbug. It was not thought that the perference South Africa now granted Britain would be continued unless she obtained better treatment.

The time was not ripe for Rhodesia to enter tho Union. The peoplo would not welcome absorption into t'he Union which was not as essentially British as they could desire.
