EFFECT ON COAL TRADE. •By Telegraph—PreßS Association—Oopyrlffht Sydney, February 28. Mr. Neilson, reporting on the effects of the opening of the Panama Canal on tlie Pacific, Coast coal trade,' says:—"lt is impossible for Australian coal,to compete with American coal. As far ps San Francisco is conoerned, we may concludo it is gone. I also think the same applies to the Hawaiian trade."
