WAIBAU: ELECTIONPETITION. ; (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , Blenheim, February 27. ■ Tho Supremo Court criminal sessions opened to-day, before Mr. Justice Chapman. In his address to tho ! Grand Jury, the Judge congratulated tho district on the fact that they had only 'ono bill before them. .This was a case against John Francis O'Keefe, charged with theft of a mail bag from tho Molesworth coach in January last. Tho bag was found in.,6ome scrub. It had been opened and the letters torn and scattered about. Accused was alleged to have beon seen going towards tho scrub with ' something under his coat. The' jury considered tho (jvidence for the prosecution inconclusive, and acoused was acquitted. ' . ' j, 'I he eleotion petition case Sinclair v. Vavasour and AV. Pollard, a claim for balance of petitioning solicitor's fee in reference to the petition against tho return of Mr. M'Galium for AVairau at last clechpn, was adjourned by mutual consent till tho Juno sitting.
