Canterbury had accepted Otago's'challenge for a "shield match because Otago's application was rccoived first. A further reason was that Otago gave Canterbury a guarantee that' tho match would not imperil tho proposed scheme of intorprovincial matches as agreed upon at' the conference in Wellington in July last.' It was decided that tho letter/should be received, and that Otago should be written to asking if they are agreeable to annual matches with Wellington being inaugurated. Wellington bopo to visit Otago next year. Nelson Want a Match. Nelson telegraphed asking for a match there at Easter. The matter was'referred to a committee to seo if a team cau be got to do the trip at the players' own expense. Napier Game Off. Hawko's Bay are to l)e written to stating that a (cam cannot be got to visit Napier on March 17 and 18. Sunior Matches. ■ It was stated that tho 'following would be the senior fixtures for next Saturday and the Saturday following that:—South v. East A, Basin. (No. 1); East B, v. North, Basin (No. 2); College v. Petone, Petone; and Central v. Hutt, Hutt. Junior Fixtures. The draw for the junior grade was announced as follows:—March 1 and 8, Wellington College v.: Y.M.C.A., College ground; Hutt v. St. Mark's, nt Hutt; Central v.
