ONSLOW COUNCIL.

The Onslow Borough Council met lust evening, tho Mayor (Mr. F. Holdsworth) presiding. Councillors B. Lynneberg. J. C. Gardner, \V. H. Bowden, E. S. Stafford, C. M'Arthur, E. B. Dingwall, C. A.plin, junr., and F. \V. Dnrvall ivere also present. . It was reported that, from April 1, 1012, to dato, twenty-five buildings, of •* total value of .£39,430, had been erected In tho borough. The question of minimising an alleged offensive smell issuing from the. manure works of tho Candle Compnny nt ICniwnrra was discussed. After discussion, it v;ns decided to approach tho City Council and the Health Department with a viow to effecting a change. The council decided not to take advantage of the City Council's offer in regard to the septic tank's outfall at Kaiwarra. In dealing with the borough's financial matters, the Maj'or mentioned that outstanding rales amounted to 4s. Gd.
