THE "TKIUMPH" STILL ON TOP. The Christchurch-Kaikoura-and-bßck record still stands to tho credit of Mr. G, B. Brown and his full roadster "Triumph," and the now record mndo last Thursday has been buried almost as soon as it was born under the crushing weight of two hours and twenty-ono minutes. Tho principal featurea or. Mr. Q.i B. Brown's great rido_ on Saturday havo been given full publicity. On Bth February he rodo alone. Soma capital was made out of the fact that on a previous occasion ho was accompanied by another rider, and, though tho precedent thus set has been followed in the subsequent attempts upon tho record hy r,idcrs of machines other than tho "Triumph," Mr. Brown decided to demonstrate his faith in "Triumph" reliability by riding alone. Ho rode tho same full roadster threespeed "Triumph" as ho rode when ho established, tho record on January 17.- The only difference in the conditions was that ho Know the road. It must be remembered that this. Christcburch-Kaikoura ride was suggested by compQtitors presumably ns a course on which. their machines had n better chance hcrainst ■ the "Triumph" than any other. Tho course evidently does suit their machine—when their machine is going well—but it quite as evidently suits the "Triumph" just ns well, and a great deal better. So tho result'-of this little epovtinu controversy has besn to establish the "Triumph" as the best, "cross-country" motor-cyclo. as well as tho best speed, machine, tho best machine for reliability, and tho best for hill-climbin?. Tho latest "Triumphs/ aro now. to hand'; prices: fixed engine. ,C7O; frpe engine. . .£80; three-speed, £&!• 10s." Adams, Limited.. Chrisfe'mreh. Branches.
