MUNICIPAL ROLL.
INTB I!»s ALLCITX
Since the last municipal election tho municipal oleotors' roll has been- completely overhauled, and as far as possiblo brought up to date by the chief returning officer (Mr. J.. Ames) and his staff. Thiswork was very, badly needed as was indicatcd at tho last Mayoral election, when it was discovered that many names of people who- had lone before died or- left the city still appeared as eligible to vote. What every citizen should grasp is that every person who failed to voto at the: City Council election two years ago, or at 1 the Mayoral election a year ago, has. been struck off the roll, Furthermore, those who did not vote two years ago, and did .'voto last year, havo also boon struck off, as well as persons deceased and those who linvo changed the locality of their; 1 domicile from Wellington city. Tho new;, roll, which has-been written .up in five volumes, may now bo inspected at tho Town Hall, whero applications for enrolment will also bo received. The roll is now in tho printer's hands,' and. copies will not be availablo for a few days. It contains 23,572 names, as against IC.7H on, j, tho main roll of 1911. Tho oomplctc roll 'of that year (with supploracntari«s)„ howlover, contained 30,005 names. Names now received will,be plaoed upon, the supplementary roll, 1 which will closo on April I—2B clear days, before the election, which is to take place on Wednesday, April 30.
