Mr. Peilding, who was Minister for Finance in Sir Wilfrid- Laurier'e Cabinet in Canada, and who camo to England after the introduction; of Mr. Borden's Naval Bill, in a letter to the "Daily Telegraph," says he has not heaird of or met the Radicals accused of intriguing to embarrass the Canadian Government, and that he has not offered any view to English members of Parliament on the Naval question. WHAT THE MOTHERLAND NEEDS. Ottawa, February 14. The Liberals have abandoned their intention of obstructing the Navy Bill. Besplutions ' authorising expenditure were carried. On tho second reading of the Bill there wag a straight party vote. Mr. Borden, the Prime Minister, emphasised, the point that Canada's policy was a direct outcome of the Admiralty's wishes, and was the only policy giving what the Motherland really stood in need of. He added that if the Liberals were in power to-morrow they ' Would never carry out Sir Wilfrid Laurier's soheme.
