Sir,—At tho Unitarian Church, on Sunday evening, Professor Mackenzie.stated: "There cau bo no objection to the Nelson system, if it does "not entail tampering with tlifl bqouloi tiino-tablo, or imposing
duties (in connection with it) on State teachers. What is the Nelson system? I hero seem to be- two or moro systems going by that naino in the Dominion?— I am, etc., INQUIKEB. FTlio working of tho so-calleil Nelson system at Oamaru, according to. the chairman of the Olago Education Board, shows that it need not interfere with tho reguar work of tho schools. . All that would bo required of the Slate teachers would be.to sco that the ordinary discipline of the 6chool was maintained.!
